The Last Breath

Posted by editor On 9:15 AM

The uncertainty of a new world forced them

to swim like camels in the deep blue waters

to see you mirror yourself

in the two great seas and two forgotten oceans.

Oh, my...

Those who took their destiny unquestionably to foreign lands

still crave for a piece of your beauty.

But not I, for I see the day when my time will come

and with my trembling body I will lay by your sacred shore

where my infant body once laid.

The angry waves of your waters

will caress me and swallow me whole,

It will be there that I will take my last breath; Oh, my Africa.
